Programs
2- or 3-Morning Nursery School
Our school days include circle time, where we welcome each other and do activities related to the calendar and the weather, as well as cognitive learning and science exploration. We have a snack time, which includes a washroom routine and a healthy snack and drink. And there is a wide variety of daily activities for the children to choose from, such as creative play and computer time (please see the yellow list on the right for details). Monthly calendars and newsletters are distributed to all of our families, which outline the programming themes for the month (for example, dinosaurs, outer space, underwater life). Outdoor play is incorporated into the curriculum (weather-permitting) such as tobogganing and outdoor games. And theme-related field trips, such as the pumpkin patch in the fall and the maple sugar bush in spring, are always a fun time for everyone.
4-Afternoon Junior/Senior Kindergarten
Our creative, energetic and progressive Junior/Senior Kindergarten program features a phonics program, a math readiness program, kindergarten worksheets, journals, calendars and field trips. Our ECE teachers surround your child with encouragement, allowing them to grow and learn in preparation for Grade One. We offer a program appropriate to each child’s needs and accept each child as a unique individual. Our kindergarten program is a place where self-esteem and confidence are built on each child’s strengths and interests. This program is suitable as an additional program for children already in a morning kindergarten program or as an effective and engaging alternative to all-day programs, as it offers a full kindergarten curriculum and comprehensive preparation for Grade One.
2-Afternoon Junior/Senior Kindergarten Enrichment
Our Kindergarten Enrichment program is specially designed to enhance the education of children attending a morning kindergarten program in the public or separate school boards. The program reinforces the concepts learned in their morning classes, while providing a smaller, more hands-on environment to aid in their development. Our program will allow more time to be spent on oral language, phonic awareness, language arts, technology, music & creative movement, small group work, social interaction, physical education & greater amount of one-on-one attention.
Fun! Fun! Fun!
Outdoor Play
Our curriculum includes outdoor play such as nature hikes, tobogganing, sports and outdoor games.
Special Activities
Throughout the year, the children are given the opportunity to attend various educational field trips as well as seasonal parties. Our favorite field trips have been the Springridge Farm Pumpkin Patch, Meadowvale Theatre and the Royal Ontario Museum’s Dinosaur Exhibit.
